八卦掌的三盤/Baguazhang De San Pan – Baguazhang’s Three Basins

八卦掌分上盤、中盤和下盤三種練法,通稱三盤練法。

Baguazhang is divided into Upper Basin, Middle Basin, & Lower Basin Type Training Methods, under the general name Three Basins Training Method.

上盤練法是:身體直立,走起步法來,就像尋常人走路一樣,不向下坐跨。

The Upper Basin Training Method is: the Body is upright, the Walking Rising Step Method is next, it’s just like an ordinary person walking, without the downward Sitting Hips.

中盤練法是:兩腿屈膝微蹲,上半身與腰部的重點落於兩腿上,走起步法來,就像蹚泥蹚水一般。上盤和中盤練法以走快步最相宜。

The Middle Basin Training Method is: both legs bend at the knees & slightly crouch, the upper body & waist focus on falling into both legs from above, the Walking Rising Step Method is next, it resembles Wading in Mud or Wading in Water generally. In Walking the Quick Step is the most appropriate for Upper Basin & Middle Basin Training Methods to use.

下盤練法是:八卦掌的最困難的練法,它必須是:腿極力彎曲,腳跟與臀部、膝蓋要成一個三角形,全身的重點落在兩腿上,走步越慢越好。

The Lower Basin Training Method is: Baguazhang’s most challenging Training Method, its requirements are: the legs must make a supreme effort to bend the heel to the buttocks, the knee must succeed in making it a single triangle, the Whole Body’s focus falls into both legs from above, in Walking the Steps are exceedingly slow & exceedingly proper.

三盤的練法以中盤練法最相宜,現在練習八卦掌的都是練中盤,唯有練習單架子的時候,才練下盤功夫。

In Three Basins Training Method using the Middle Basin is the most appropriate, nowadays practicing Baguazhang is entirely Training Middle Basin, only by practicing Single Frames at a time, are you able to Train Lower Basin Kung fu.
