Brad Ruka

Hello out there, Uncle Sickness here. My actual name is Brad, as you may have noticed. I’m currently 39 years old, & have practiced Chinese Martial Arts since my freshman year in college, way back in 1996. In the intervening years, I’ve learned a number of different Qigong sets, forms of meditation, & various Northern styles. My primary focus for the last several years have been the so-called “Big Three Internal Styles,” of Xingyiquan, Baguazhang, & Taijiquan.

In this modern world, many people point out that learning complex, advanced martial arts are a waste of time. You can just go out & get a gun, if it really comes down to it. But the real benefit of studying these Arts, as ever, is the Health Cultivation aspect of the training. If not for the strength & health I had developed through practice in my 20’s, I would have died in my early 30’s from a series of bacterial infections, including Sepsis. There is no doubt in my mind that I would be dead if not for my dedication to training, my desire to see how far I could develop my Kung Fu.

Now, I spend my days working to spread this knowledge, & share these invaluable techniques which are, as it says in a favorite book of mine, ” A Perscription Worth 10,000 Pieces of Gold.” I hope you all find something that both appeals to, & is useful to, you. If even one other person can benefit from these techniques, methods, & styles being shared, then I can consider my life worthwhile. Thank you, & please, enjoy!
