A Look Back at the Inspiration Behind Lessons Learned in the World of Martial Arts

A few years ago, I was struggling to stay motivated. A series of ridiculous medical problems & bouts of illness, in rapid succession over a number of years, had shaken my confidence. During a regular meeting to discuss the Theory of Internal Kung fu with my Shidi, Old Rubber Legs, I was inspired to share the years of research I had collected by a uniquely hilarious film. Here is the opening sequence to the classic Dance of the Drunk Mantis, Yuen Woo Ping’s unofficial sequel to Drunken Master, & the source of the Uncle Sickness character.

    1. I am not a doctor, so this IS NOT medical advice, just my observation. My mother has had several back surgeries, due to sciatic nerve damage in one of her legs. She’s been given many different types of pain medication, & the majority of them caused her to be confused & forgetful. The stronger medications usually have that effect on people, especially the post-operation medications used in hospitals. It would probably be best to talk with your sister’s doctor about which pain killer, & which dose, is best for managing her pain level. Good luck, I wish her a speedy recovery!
