八卦掌的三個鍛煉步驟/Baguazhang De San Ge Duanlian Buzhou – Baguazhang’s Three Types of Training Procedure

八卦掌的鍛煉,分為三個步驟:定架子,活架子,變架子。

Baguazhang’s training is divided into three types: Fixed Frame, Lively Frame, & Variable Frame.

 

第一步驟,一定要先練定架子,這是八卦掌打基礎的步驟。定架子就是一步一趨,慢慢地,規規矩矩地按八卦掌的動作練習,不可快。

The first step trained must always be Fixed Frame, this is the foundational step of Baguazhang Striking. Fixed Frame is like “One Steps, One Hastens.” Move very slowly, in strict accordance with Baguazhang’s moving training, it must not be quick.

 

第二步驟,是活架子。活架子是步法不停的練習,換式時,不要把步法停住,應迅速向前邁出去,每式都如此換步,就完全變成活的步法了。八卦掌的活架子,走起來如游龍,如飛鳳,夭夭矯矯,飄飄蕩蕩,非常美觀好看。

The second step is Lively Frame. Lively Frame is training the Footwork without ceasing. When changing forms the Footwork must not stop, but should go forward quickly as the step arrives. When every form changes the steps in this way you’ll have completed the change into Lively Footwork. In Baguazhang’s Lively Frame, Walking begins like a swimming dragon, like a flying phoenix: very gentle & yet very brave, floating & fluttering, very artistic & pleasing to the eye.

 

第三步驟,是變架子。變架子是隨意變化,有時把第一掌放在最後練,有時把第八掌作第一掌練,有時把第四掌作第二掌練,這樣隨意穿插練習,就可以千變萬化,無窮無盡。

The Third step is Variable Frame. Variable Frame is changing at will. Sometimes the First Palm ends practice, sometimes the Eighth Palm is regarded as the first Palm practiced, & sometimes the Fourth Palm is regarded as the second Palm practiced. Altering the training at will in this way, you will be able to change constantly without end.
