形意拳之拳諺/ Xingyiquan Zhi Quan Yan – Xingyiquan’s Boxing Proverbs

起如鋼銼，落如鉤竿。起者去也，落者回也。未起如摘星，未落如墜月。起如箭，落如風，追風趕月不放鬆。起如風，落如箭，打倒敵手還嫌慢。足打七分手打三，五行四梢要齊全，氣連心意隨時用，硬打硬進無遮攔。

Rise like a steel file, Fall like a hooked pole. Rising is Going, Falling is Returning. Not yet Rising is like plucking stars, not yet Falling is like the sinking moon. Rise like an arrow, Fall like the wind, chasing the wind to catch the moon must never relax. Rise like the wind, Fall like an arrow, overthrow the enemy while resenting your own slowness. The foot strikes seven & the hands strike three, the Five Phases & Four Tips must be complete, Qi links with the Intention at all times for usage, hard Striking & hard Advancing don’t cover or block.

起似伏龍升天，落如霹雷擊地。起無形，落無蹤，去意好似捲地風。起不起，何用再起，落不落，何用再落。低中望為高，高中望為低，起落如水中翻浪，不翻不鑽，一寸為先。

Rising is like a hidden dragon ascending to heaven, Falling is like lighting striking the earth. Rise without shape, Fall without trace, the intention of Going is like a wind rolling along the ground. Rising isn’t Rising when it’s used to make a resurgence, Falling isn’t Falling when it’s used for a second Fall. Below the center of the full moon is ascending, above the center of the full moon is descending, Rising & Falling is like the water within overturning waves, not Overturning & not Drilling, One Inch & Go.

拳打三節不見形，如見形影不為能。虛中含實，實中含虛。奇無不正，正無不奇，奇正之變，妙用無窮。拳無拳，意無意，無意之中是真意，即三回九轉是一式也。

In Fist Striking the shape of the Three Sections must not be seen, if the shape or shadow are seen then it lacks ability. Emptiness contains Solidity within, Solidity contains Emptiness within. The Unorthodox doesn’t lack Orthodox, the Orthodox doesn’t lack the Unorthodox, the transformation of Unorthodox & Orthodox yields clever usage without end. Boxing without Boxing, Intention without Intention, to lack Intention during Boxing is True Intention, that is Three Returns & Nine Rotations are One Form.
