形意拳七拳十四打法/Xingyiquan Qi Quan Shi Si Da Fa – Xingyiquan’s Seven Fists Fourteen Strikes Method

用必七體,頭肩肘手,胯膝合腳,相助為友。七曜者,即頭肩肘手胯膝腳七體也,二七一十四個用法(頭是雙數),為拳中之要領,歌訣曰:

Applications must have Seven Bodies, Head, Shoulders, Elbows, Hands, Hips, Knees, & Feet, to work closely together as friends. The Seven Stars are the seven bodies of the Head, Shoulders, Elbows, Hands, Hips, Knees, & Feet, two “7’s” make “14,” individual Application Methods (the Head is a double number), to serve as Fists is its essential point, the Song Secret says:

打法定要先上身,手腳齊到纔為真,拳如炮形龍折身,遇敵好似火燒身。

For the Striking Method to be fixed it is essential that first the upper body, hands, & feet simultaneously arriving is real, the Fist is like a cannon & the Shape is Dragon Bending Body, when meeting an enemy it is like fire burning the body.

頭打起意站中央,渾身齊到人難當,腳踩中門奪地位,就是神仙也難防。

The Head Strike was conceived to stop the center, from head to foot simultaneously arriving is difficult for people to withstand, the foot treads the Center Gate to seize position, even an Immortal would have difficulty defending!

肩打一陰返一陽,兩手只在暗處藏,左右全憑蓋勢取,縮長二字一命亡。

The Shoulder Strikes One Yin & Returns One Yang, both hands are concealed in a secret place, left & right completely rely on the Covering Pattern’s Taking, Contract & Extend are two words but one life can be lost.

手打起意在胸膛,其勢好似虎撲羊,沾實用力須展放,兩肘只在肋下藏。

The Hand Strike’s planning is in the chest, it’s appearance is like a tiger pouncing on sheep, in contact applied strength must spread out freely, both elbows are hidden below at the ribs.

胯打陰陽左右便,兩足交換須自然,左右進取宜劍勁,得心應手敵自翻。

The Hip Strikes Yin Yang, Left & Right as convenient, both feet must switch naturally, the Left & Right forging ahead should be like Sword Jin, what the Heart wishes the Hand accomplishes & the enemy is naturally overturned.

膝打要害能致命,兩手空恍繞上中,妙訣勸君勤練習,強身勝敵樂無窮。

The Knee Striking a vital part is able to kill, both hands are empty & indistinct, coiling above the Center, the marvelous secret exhorts the gentleman to industrious practice, inexhaustible joy comes from strengthening the body & defeating the enemy.

腳踩正意勿落空,消息全在後腿蹬,蓄意須防被敵覺,起勢好似捲地風。

The Foot Stamp’s correct idea doesn’t fail, the news depends on the rear leg’s treading, you must have the idea of protecting yourself by catching the enemy asleep, setting off like a wind rolling along the ground.
